Writing when you’ve got a busy life? It’s not easy.
I get it. I’ve published 490 articles in just 24 months. But when I started? It was all over the place. I had no system. No clear process. Just a slow struggle to write.
Now I’ve got a simple, streamlined approach that’s completely transformed my writing. I’m faster. My writing is better. And here’s the best part. I’m actually enjoying it.
The key is my 5-step writing system.
It’s made it easy to show up consistently. And write day after day. When I sit down to write I know exactly what needs to happen. This system has skyrocketed my results. I have 20,000 followers. And earn enough to go part-time with my main job.
Want to know how I do it? Here are the 5 steps I follow every time I write.
- Stuck for ideas?
New writers freeze before they begin.
Too many ideas. Or none at all. You need a system. One that feeds you ideas on demand.
I have two.
The idea vault
Every thought, quote, and insight goes into Evernote. It’s my creative fuel tank.
Sometimes I record a voice note after a podcast. Then Evernote transcribes it. At other times I save lines from a book. If I test a new writing technique. I log it here. When it’s time to write, I open Evernote. Scroll. Pick whatever jumps out. The idea with the most energy wins.
But sometimes, the best ideas come another way.
The shower method
Does this ever happen to you?
Hot water. No distractions. And suddenly a half-formed thought sharpens into a topic bursting with ideas. The mind relaxes, creativity flows. When that happens I go with it. Because the energy feels fresh.
Whichever way the idea arrives I give it a working title. This won’t be the final headline. For example — this article was called how to write an article
